Some artworks come together in a single burst of inspiration. Off The Shelf took seven years.

What began as a painting I wasn't happy with became a canvas that repeatedly found its way back onto the shelf. Over the years, it was reworked, painted over, textured and revisited, each layer adding to its story. Hidden beneath the surface are remnants of previous attempts, old inks, acrylic paints and even traces of newspaper from its earliest days.

Eventually, after years of waiting, experimenting and refusing to give up on it, the artwork finally became what it was always meant to be. Rich purple alcohol inks blend with luminous gold details, while the underlying textures and history remain visible beneath the surface.

This original artwork is a celebration of perseverance and a reminder that progress is rarely linear. Sometimes the most meaningful transformations take time.
